In many technical applications like heat exchangers thin liquid films play an important role. The IMVT therefore investigates the behaviour of liquids on a solid plate as well as the behavior of free falling liquid films.
The objectives of the investigation include the determination of film thickness and the measurement of the surface profile. In addition, the results should help to better understand and thus optimise technical processes, for example in heat exchangers or atomisation technology.
